Zen-like Calm Ninja

• Stop and Breathe: When feeling overwhelmed, take a moment to stop and breathe deeply.
• Boss Thinking: Inspired by Peter Drucker, this involves planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks to manage workload effectively. Spend 5-10 minutes each morning planning and prioritizing tasks to ensure a productive day.

Brain Dump Exercise

• Purpose: Clear the mind by writing down all tasks and thoughts without censoring.
• Outcome: Helps in organizing and prioritizing tasks, reducing mental clutter.
• Therapeutic Effect: Many participants found the brain dump exercise therapeutic and helpful in organizing their thoughts.
Note: while the exercise might initially feel overwhelming, it ultimately aids in better planning and stress reduction.

Focus on Essential Tasks

Use the Pareto Principle (80/20 rule) to focus on the 20% of tasks that will make the biggest impact.

Focus on Well-Being

Maintaining a balance between work and personal life is crucial for overall productivity and happiness.

Planning a Restful Break

Define Restful Activities: Participants were asked to think about and plan what a restful break looks like for them. Examples: Activities like being in nature, exercising, reading, and spending time with family were suggested.

January Planning

  1. Diary Review: Encouraged participants to review and plan their January schedules.
  2. First Day Back: Block out time for “boss thinking” and organizing tasks on the first day back to work.
  3. Daily Boot Up: Suggested blocking 15 minutes each morning for daily planning and prioritizing.
